HiWave Technologies plc appoints Caroline O’Brien as Chief Commercial Officer

Cambridge, UK, February 25, 2011: HiWave Technologies PLC, the provider of electronic solutions for audio and haptic touch, announces the appointment of Caroline O’Brien as Chief Commercial Officer, effective February 25, 2011.

O’Brien joins HiWave from NASDAQ-listed PLX Technology Inc., a fabless semiconductor company, where she successfully drove growth as sales director for the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa). Her previous experience includes two years as vice president of sales for Sondrel, an IC design services company, and seven years with Oxford Semiconductor, a venture-funded semiconductor start-up where O’Brien became global sales director.

Commenting on the appointment, HiWave CEO, James Lewis, said, “Caroline’s combination of technical and business track record, together with her global commercial experience, make her ideal for this role as we continue the transformation of the company into a vendor of semiconductors, electronic modules and transducers for audio and next-generation touch panels.”

O’Brien will be based at HiWave’s corporate headquarters in Cambridge, UK.

Caroline O’Brien holds a B.Eng. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Wales, Swansea, and an Executive MBA from the University of Bath.
