HiWave Technologies appoints Michael Davison as Chief Operations Officer

Semiconductor industry veteran will oversee chip fabrication, test and delivery

Cambridge, UK, January 4, 2011: HiWave Technologies PLC, the provider of electronic solutions for audio and haptic touch, announces the appointment of Mike Davison as Chief Operations Officer, effective January 1st.

Davison’s 30-year career in the electronics industry includes senior roles with GEC Plessey Telecom, Brooktree/Pioneer, Oak Technology and Conexant. From 2001 until 2008 he served as Director of Operations at fabless semiconductor start-up, picoChip designs. He was then Director of Operations at Audium Semiconductor until April 2010. Davison consulted on behalf of NXT (now re-named HiWave) following the acquisition of Audium’s IP and technology.

HiWave’s Chief Executive Officer James Lewis said, “As HiWave continues its transition from an IP licensing model to becoming a developer and vendor of components and platforms based on patented bending wave and audio amplifier technologies, we are focusing on building a world-class supply chain. We’re fortunate to have someone of Mike’s experience and abilities join the team at the start of a year in which we aim to create an exciting portfolio of new components and design platforms for the next generation of human interface products.”

Davison is a chartered engineer who holds as BSc (Hons) in electronics and an MSc in telecommunications technology. His interests include Asian languages and cultures, particularly those of Japan and China.
